a list of things
that I am probably/definitely/maybe going to leave behind when I go home: huge quantity of envelopes that I bought because I needed like one or two of them and  couldn’t find a smaller package one tube dark blue acrylic paint, bought in spite of my hatred of acrylics because the color the studio had was too greenish one small bottle linseed oil, which I’d like to keep but it’s...

I’ve spent the last three years slowly adding to the autocorrect dictionary for the French spellcheck on this computer, telling it to add accents to words when I leave them out rather than making me insert them manually. After three years it’s finally starting to make a difference - I’ve gotten most of the words I use on a regular basis and there’s now a fairly large set of...

The Thinker
evandahm: Put up the new short story! It is the first of a 3-part thing… a format and length I haven’t dealt with before. Very happy with how it’s turned out. Tried a kind of new approach: working outwards from a central, abstract concept, which I’ve tried to represent in a visually interesting way. Don’t want to say too much before the rest of it is up. hey, here’s something you...

‘Kay, so I’ve got all these little handful-sized figure sculptures, mostly quick sketchy things in preparation for larger ones. Unable to bring all of them home (and I don’t really want to anyway), I’m trying to think of something to do with them all, and my latest thought is before I go home to just wander around the city and leave them places. What do we think of this?

post so that people know I'm actually alive
Lately my dreams keep being oddly dense and cinematic, except that I can’t remember what actually happened in any of them. Like I’ll remember flashes of scenery and an overall aesthetic tone such that I know it was something serious and uncharacteristically plot-driven, but then that’s it. A while ago I was in the library and I looked around and was like, “Wait, wait, wait...

five disconnected things
Did my exposé, got actual positive feedback, was kind of shocked. For reference, if a French person tells you something you did is “not bad,” be pleased with yourself. If they tell you something is actually good, get kind of confused and realize that it has been a pretty long while since this has happened. What? No looming assignments of death within the next week? BLASPHEMY. ...

an odd realization
I just realized that not only do I use the word “guy” to describe anyone of either gender, I have apparently expanded to using it for inanimate objects. I just used the phrase “that guy” to refer to a piece of minimalist sculpture. I mean, at least the not-gargoyles look sort of like something alive. This was a series of boxes. What.

“I’ve been inovulated by spiders!”
– found this written on the back of something in my main work folder, in quotes as if it was something I or somebody said that I wanted to remember. I… vaguely remember it being said. Something about how ‘inovulated’ sounds like it should be a word but isn’t… Why did I...

oh god this is my childhood
emmyc: neilcicierega: sooo glad people remember this game I have so many memories of the surreal and bizarre things I did with this game. Highlights: the very first one I did, called “Uncle Olaf Swings his Hips” “Samantha is a Leprechaun,” in which I messed with the pitch and speed of everyone’s voices the one where I discovered that if you click on them...
