just got Zid back from the tech services people,...
long-term problems fixed by Knowledgeable Dude:
conductive finish on the trackpad worn off in the scrolly zone
constant high-pitched whine emitted by headphones, when they worked at all
gross keyboard filled with debris (not really a problem, but resolved anyway as the whole front bit was replaced)
long-term problems spontaneously resolved by mysterious ambient Fix Vibes:
inability to install...
