It’s snowing and I don’t have to go into work until ten so have some Exercises in Narcissism. Warning: I do not actually look this majestic, though I do often hover in a blue void.
I mostly try not to draw myself with weirdly enormous feet and hands but I just really like how it looks, I don’t know why. In reality I have tiny hands and feet like a baby, it makes it really hard to buy gloves.

YEAH OK I’M DOIN IT, I’m gonna draw all of them, all these guys from this dumb story I wrote when I was like seventeen.
This dude is Marl, he is mostly uncomfortable. He is uncomfortable with being touched or looked at too hard. He is basically uncomfortable with the reality of being a human. Every description of him was basically “he was wearing an even stupider sweater than the last time,” but I never actually drew him in any of the sweaters, which was a mistake. That sweater was the most fun I’ve had drawing anything in a long time.
Marl was the most major secondary character of the story purely in that he showed up first and introduced most of the plot elements, he then spent a lot of the plot sort of following everyone around and being miserable and Dacey kept wondering why he was even there. I think at one point in the story it was implied that he owned several antique typewriters.

More prints! This thing was the product of a really long, convoluted, and totally improvised process in which I just piled more and more ink on the plate in hopes that it would just continue making it look cooler. I think it turned out pretty well, though by the end there was so much ink on there that it’s been four days and these are still a little sticky if you touch them too hard.
I am a fan of nebulae.

Whoa guys another one!
Originally Wingnut had its other foot up on the windowsill there and was wearing the other boot, but then it slipped and the boot fell out the window and I couldn’t get to it.

Oh hey look I actually made something!
This was for my painting II class and senior group show; it’s oil on masonite. The robot’s name is Wingnut and I built it out of PVC pipes and plywood so I could set it up and pose it.

Oh hey, here’s a picture. I just now took a picture of this because I needed to be able to show it to a class, so I figured I’d shove it up here.
This is a mildly bad and definitely unfinished painting; photographed with a really bad camera.

I have mentioned before my undying love for FreakAngels, and it looks like this is going to be the next project of Paul Duffield, the artist from FreakAngels whose drawings I find incredibly pretty. So far the first stage of the comic has been funded and he’s maintaining a progress blog as it gets closer to being actually readable. You should all go look at this because it’s really interesting - I was particularly fond of the part where he talked about costume designing and then people started commenting recommending all these books on costume design, all of which I now want to own. There’s also a really nicely animated little trailer with great music (the first iteration of the music is on the blog too, and according to him it was made with ”a large baking tray, a tinkly hello kitty phone charm, an ukulele and a smartphone.” FANTASTIC).

I guess I should come back to this once it’s actually started, but for now I am mainly Looking Forward to Things.

This isn’t really finished. I’m not sure how I feel about it.

I approve of this a lot, but my favorite one is missing. Click through to the link, then go to Fine art>VANITAS. The one I like is the fifth in line, the tattooed person from the shoulders up facing left.
